In September 2018, GHPS Jodupala in Karnataka faced an uncertain future after a devastating landslide, part of a larger wave of school closures. Led by Headmistress Damayanthi and a team of five teachers, the school stood resilient despite challenges like the displacement of families and lack of students. With support from the Block Education Officer, the school became a relief centre. Hope was reignited through a project offering internet access and modern technology, including a 75-inch smart panel and solar-powered UPS. These efforts transformed GHPS Jodupala into a thriving educational hub, drawing students back and revitalising the community – School of ISF project

In 2006, a career-focused professional working in Kerala embarked on a new chapter after marriage, moved to Dubai with hopes of continuing her IT career. Shortly after securing a position with a local IT firm, she made the difficult decision to resign when she conceived, due to a history of miscarriage that necessitated extra care. Following the birth of her child, she sought ways to re-enter the workforce, but Dubai’s IT market was sluggish, and her husband’s demanding work schedule left limited support for childcare.

Balancing the competing demands of career aspirations and family responsibilities was a challenging adjustment. Though she longed to resume her professional journey, the circumstances led her to become a full-time homemaker.
Now, with a renewed determination and the support of IEEE and Quest Global, she is eager to reintegrate into the workforce. Their guidance has been instrumental in helping her bridge the gap, reigniting her passion for a career in IT, and setting her on a path back to the professional world.

A PHP developer having over five years of experience, took an 11-year career break to focus on her family. During this time, she dedicated herself to supporting her son, who was born deaf and mute with CHARGE syndrome—a rare genetic disorder affecting multiple areas of the body. Despite the considerable challenges, her son recently achieved a remarkable milestone: he won a national medal in skating and received an award from the Minister of Madhya Pradesh. His accomplishment has been a profound source of inspiration, motivating her to rejoin the technology field.

Now, as a participant in the IEEE Women Returning Program, she is focused on updating and expanding her skillset. With an emphasis on Python, microservices, and Node.js, she is also completing the IBM Full Stack Developer course. This journey is about more than just reentering the workforce; it’s about preparing to make a meaningful impact.

Her long-term goal is to leverage her technical expertise to develop applications and solutions that will empower the deaf and mute community, providing tools for improved communication, education, and daily life. With the support of IEEE and Quest Global, she is determined to turn her vision into a reality, creating technology that bridges gaps and brings lasting change.

With over 15 years of experience as a project management professional specializing in healthcare and technology, built a reputation as a results-driven, detail-oriented leader known for her contagious enthusiasm. Her entrepreneurial journey began with a passion for innovation, strategic planning, and client satisfaction, which quickly earned her the trust of clients in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and Germany.

For the past seven years, she has managed the demands of family life amid her husband’s frequent job relocations, moving across cities and even countries every two years. These frequent relocations required her to put her corporate career and entrepreneurial pursuits on hold, as establishing a local business base became challenging. Nevertheless, she remained connected to the professional community, leveraging her certifications in PMP, CBAP, and NLP.

Now, she is launching a new chapter in her career, moving into coaching with the goal of empowering others to achieve their own career breakthroughs. She is confident that the IEEE Returning Women Engineers Program will provide her with the resources and network needed to enhance her skills and build a successful entrepreneurial path in coaching, where she hopes to inspire others and make a meaningful impact.
