Illuminate: Possibility of technology to address Global problems

LogoName of the ProgramBrief information
IEEE Smart VillageIEEE Smart Village (ISV) provides seed-funding to carefully selected community enterprising organisations based upon a credible business plan that will impact a significant number of people with electricity, technology education and jobs. In the process the entrepreneurs solve the social issues of the unreached communities. For more information please visit https://smartvillage.ieee.org/
IEEE SIGHTIEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) is a global network of groups consisting of IEEE members and volunteers who identify and address local problems by applying their technical skills and partnering with their local communities. For more information please visit https://sight.ieee.org/
EPICS in IEEEEPICS in IEEE is to empower university students to work along with technical professionals and communities around the world to enhance their practical engineering skills and knowledge through service-learning experiences. For more information please visit https://epics.ieee.org/
IEEE MOVE Outreach, IndiaThe goal of IEEE MOVE Outreach, India is to reach every disaster location in India through Disaster awareness, STEM education related to climate change and promote sustainability, Technology innovations to reduce the severity of damage after disaster and provide technology support through MOVE vehicle for first responders to ensure communication, power, rescue and information services. IEEE India specific initiatives - Impacting Indian Communities

Disaster Resilience Project Transforming the Lives of the rural communities through the power of the internet, especially in disaster prone villages across India. As part of the project the internet is deployed in the disaster prone village and the first internet connectivity is provided to the government school to promote education along with deployment of digital classrooms and solar based UPS. The project also trains local entrepreneurs so that they are able to increase their income and also deploy or repair the internet in less time during the disaster situation. In total, the project is impacting Disaster resilience, Education, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Rural community development. For more information please visit
